Big C HK Hosts Inaugural Supplier Conference to Unveil Future Expansion Plans

Hong Kong, November 22, 2024 – Big C HK hosted its first-ever Supplier Conference at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, bringing together over 120 distinguished guests from various sectors of the retail market. Themed “Big Success Together,” the conference showcased the company’s vision for collaborative growth and mutual success within the industry.

 

The event featured key stakeholders, including major product suppliers from the region, representatives from major developers and shopping malls as well as logistics partners. The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Bernard Chan Pak Li, Under Secretary of the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau, HKSAR, Chaturont Chaiyakam, Consul General of Thailand in Hong Kong, along with other senior officials from HKSAR and Consul General of Thailand to witness the event.

 

In his opening remarks, Aswin Techajareonvikul, Chief Executive Officer of Big C Supercenter Public Company Limited, emphasized the company’s commitment to fostering strong partnerships. “Big C is dedicated to exploring collaboration opportunities with our suppliers and strategic partners to achieve long-term growth. We are confident in the Hong Kong retail market and plan to expand by introducing a broader range of products, optimizing our retail network, and developing a customer-centric omni-channel experience to better serve our customers,” he stated.

 

Dr. Bernard Chan Pak Li expressed his appreciation for Big C’s initiatives. “The Government of the Hong Kong SAR is committed to promoting a healthy economic environment that attracts businesses worldwide. I am pleased to see Big C, one of the largest retailers in Southeast Asia, pursuing its expansion in Hong Kong. This demonstrates the city’s ongoing vitality and attractiveness to foreign investors,” he remarked.

 

Further insights were provided by Mr. Patrick Cheng, Managing Director of Big C Hong Kong, who outlined upcoming business strategies, including the launch of innovative retail concepts and seamless integration of online and offline experiences. He highlighted plans to introduce an expanded selection of fresh foods, ready-to-eat meals, and unique Thai products and in-house private labels to meet customers’ evolving needs and support sustained business growth.

 

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many suppliers and partners expressing enthusiasm about Big C HK’s future direction and eagerness to collaborate for mutual success.
